At our Tomioka church plant we are using Ann's outreach English classes as an initial means of evangelism. We plan to add other events and activities in the coming years.
Ann's evangelistic English classes are held in the community hall in Tomioka City indicated by the red arrow.
On Aug 2, 2005, Ann held an introductory class for prospective students. Ten ladies showed up. As a result, Ann began teaching an outreach English class twice a month in Tomioka City.
Some of her class is pictured in the above Oct 2005 photo. Ann includes a 15 minute Bible talk within the 90 min class.
Ann taught the English class ladies the Christmas story and a craft in Dec 2005.
For one day at the end of Aug 2006, a literature distribution team from local EFC churches came to Tomioka.
As a result of the literature distribution in Aug, Ann added a new class, pictured here in Oct 2006.
Ann celebrated Christmas with her English students on Dec 12, 2006.
The ladies carved stamps out of erasers and made Christmas cards. They also read the Christmas story from a children's book and sang a few Christmas carols. What an opportunity to share the true meaning of Christmas!
The Christmas 2006 party ended with a potluck lunch and a gift exchange. Our desire is that these ladies will continue to study English and the Bible with Ann.
