Digital Projector Special Project

Donations as of November 1, 2005: CD$1000/US$830
Goal Reached!

We use a digital projector for our teaching and preaching here in Japan as well as for our presentations on home assignment.

Our current portable digital projector is a first generation one with a defect. Whenever flourescent lights are used nearby the projector, the projector infrared remote sensor turns off the projector. The flourescent lights apparently operate on the same or similar frequency. Apparently there is no solution but to make sure all flourescent lights are off in the area in which the presentation is being given.

However, in Japan almost all lights in churches, schools, and community halls are flourescent. Even lights in adjoining rooms cause this unit to malfunction. Every other time the projector is used here in Japan, it shuts down in the middle of the presentation because someone in the adjoining room flips the light switch or because for no apparent reason the frequencies conflict. It takes 3-5 minutes to cool the projector down and restart it.

So it is time for a new digital projector that does not have this problem.

Special thanks to the couple who contributed the full amount of this project!
