Electronic Japanese-English Pocket Dictionary Special Project

Donations as of March 15, 2007: CD$400/US$340
Goal Reached!

Ann carries a Japanese/English pocket dictionary with her all the time. Dale just flies by the seat of his pants! But every now and then when Ann is with Dale, he too will make use of her dictionary. Her current pocket dictionary is 10 years old and she needs another one. It is falling apart. But a paper dictionary does not help in reading Japanese characaters (kanji). Looking up an unknown kanji in a paper dictionary takes a long time. It is a hit and miss procedure—a guessing game.

On the other hand, an electronic pocket dictionary would not only handle the same function as Ann's current old pocket dictionary, it would also give her the ability to find kanji quite easily when she is reading Japanese. In fact, Dale would probably find it useful when, for example, he grades seminary student theology papers written in Japanese.

So in order to take Ann to the next level in her language learning and usage, and in order to give us one more good Japanese reference tool to use in our ministry here, we have initiated this special project for an electronic pocket dictionary.

Thank you for helping us reach this goal!
