Tokyo East Partnership-- Kanto Evangelistic English Program (KEEP)

Under Dale's guidance, three churches on the eastern side of Tokyo and the western side of Chiba Prefecture began a partnership in 2008 between their churches and the Evangelical Free Church of Canada Mission. The EFCCM sends short term tentmaking outreach English class personnel to these churches. The program provides housing, an adequate salary, and in-country expenses.

Laura S. is the first teacher in this program, joining the EFCCM in the fall of 2008. Laura served for a number of years in Japan with ReachGlobal (EFCA). We are glad to have her as the first teacher in this program. During her first year of teaching (2008-2009) about 60 students, mostly unbelievers, attended her classes at the three churches. They learned not only English, but also and most importantly, they were taught Bible stories and lessons in each class.

Laura had to take a medical leave for cancer treatment beginning in the summer of 2009. Until her return, the teaching is being done from Oct/2009 to Mar/2010 by a Eric Z. of the English Department of Musashino Chapel Center, and then from Apr-Jun/2010 by Chie K from California.
